Beninese singer, songwriter, Angelic Kidjo, was officially announced winner of 2020 Grammy Awards as she beat the African Giant, Burna Boy alongside three other nominees.
The 62nd Grammy Awards awarded Beninese singer, songwriter, actress and activist Angéligue kpasseloko Hinto Hounsinou Kandjo Manta Zogbin Kidjo known by his stage name Angelique Kidjo. The Beninese singer is known for her extraordinary musical influences and music videos.
The popular Nigerian singer, Burna Boy with his nomination, joins the likes of King Sunny Ade, Femi Kuti and Seun Kuti in getting nominated in the category at the Grammy Awards.
Grammy nominated Burna Boy alongside Altin Gun, ‘Gece’, Bokante & Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley, ‘What Heat’, Nathalie Joachim with Spektral Quartet, ‘Fanm D’Ayiti’, and Angelique Kidjo ‘Celia’.
Burna Boy was nominated with other Nigerian Grammy nominees which include Wizkid, Timaya, Babatunde Olatunji and Kah Lo.
The Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo won the Grammy Awards on Sunday at Staples Center, Los Angeles. She was announced the winner of the Best World Music Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards.
